In May 2023, Beijing Canpure Environmental Protection won the bid for the Baofeng Energy EDI project.
Baofeng Energy’s 2.6 million tons/year coal-to-olefins plant, along with its 400,000 tons/year green hydrogen-coupled olefin production facility that uses desalinated water treated by EDI technology, produces 64,800 m³ of water per day.
This olefin production project is currently the world’s largest single-site coal-to-olefins facility, and it is also the only large-scale project globally that uses green hydrogen to replace fossil fuels in olefin production.
